Baba au Rum, which originated in Poland, was introduced to France in the 18th century. "Baba" means grandmother in Slavic languages, but this is not your grandmother's dessert! Payard's signature version is a modern Parisian take on this old classic. The Baba is a thick, rich cake with dried fruit soaked in liquor to produce a unique and delicious creation. The bold flavors complement one another perfectly, and the result is surprisingly sweet.
